What we believe

It is dark, and that is exactly where it gives the city its colour. The night is where people create experiences and make connections. Where there is emotion, where you lose yourself in a moment and feel that you are alive.

That is not a footnote to the city. It is part of its social and cultural fabric. Take it away, and you take away something that makes Amsterdam Amsterdam.

And that same night is under pressure. Room to come together is getting scarcer, places disappear, and what remains is too often smoothed into something safe and rentable.

That is why Nachtgoed exists. We make the nights we want to be part of ourselves, and we protect the people and places that make them possible. We pay artists and makers fairly, we give room to new names, and because we are non-profit, everything we earn goes back into the night.

And the floor? It is there for everyone who shares the night with us. A place to be yourself, however you are, as long as you grant others the same.
