The night
Where the Amsterdam night comes from, who carries it, how it is protected, and how you become part of it.
The night belongs to Amsterdam's heritage. This is where we keep that heritage.
Amsterdam helped shape the night the world knows. From the first free spaces in squatted churches and factories to the first night mayor anywhere, the city has been dancing a step ahead for sixty years. That same night is fragile, though. Places disappear, room to gather gets scarcer, and what remains is too often smoothed into something safe and rentable.
So we are building this guide. Not a tourist club list, but a place to understand the night, support it, and share it. Everything here is checked and traced back to its original source, with credit to whoever did the work.
